Ian Dobson is the Owner and Managing Director of Kato Technology Ltd., a biotechnology and chemicals consultancy, since 2010. With a Doctorate and a BSc. in Chemistry from the University of Leeds, along with an MBA from Humberside Business School, Ian brings extensive experience from past roles at BP in biotechnology and bioprocessing. Ian served as a Distinguished Advisor at BP, where they led technology initiatives in biofuels and held various positions, including General Manager for BP Chemicals and a board member for Butamax Advanced Biofuels, a joint venture with DuPont. Currently, Ian is an advisory board member for Arbiom Inc. and holds the position of Senior Vice President at Visolis, focusing on innovative biotechnology for fuels and chemicals.
