Jon Richards

Jon Richards has a diverse work experience spanning over 13 years. Jon currently works as a Sr. Software Engineer at Vista Higher Learning, where they focus on implementing modern front-end technologies and serves as a Scrum Master. Prior to this role, Jon worked as an Independent Consultant, specializing in front-end engineering and maintaining user-facing products in various frameworks such as WordPress, ModX, and React. Jon also authored open-source JavaScript and TypeScript libraries during this time. Before their consulting work, Jon served as a Sr. UI Developer at ThirdChannel, where they developed and maintained a component library in React and TypeScript and worked on front-end DevOps practices. Jon also worked as a Software Engineer at Catalina Marketing, where they designed and developed a cross-project Angular.js directive library and front-end applications for the CouponNetwork platform. Earlier in their career, Jon worked as a Web Developer/Interactive Designer in an independent consulting capacity, where they designed and developed consumer-facing web applications and educated clients on maintaining their online presence. Jon also served as an Interactive Designer/Illustrator in a self-employed role, providing consulting services to small businesses and organizations, creating websites, graphics, and marketing materials, and developing independent Flash games and data visualizations.

Jon Richards obtained a Bachelor's Degree in New Media Design & Imaging from Rochester Institute of Technology, where they studied from 2003 to 2007.
