Andy Johnson has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career. Andy began their career in 2000 at BAC Express Airlines as the Deputy Chief Engineer, where they served until 2003. In 2004, they joined Flybe and held the position of Head of Line Maintenance until 2012, after which they became the Director of Engineering Flybe Europe until 2014. From 2014 to 2018, Andy worked at CHC Helicopter as the Regional Maintenance Manager for the Asia Pacific. Currently, they are employed at VistaJet as the Head of Part 145 Maintenance.

Andy Johnson attended the No 1 School of Technical Training RAF Halton from 1976 to 1979, where they completed an ONC and apprenticeship in Aeronautical Engineering. Before that, they attended Manor Park Grammar School, but no specific dates or degrees are provided for this education.
