John Mclean

John Mclean is the current General Counsel at Vistra. Prior to this, they served as Chief Counsel - Asia at Darby Overseas Investments from April 2011 to January 2017, where they were responsible for all legal aspects of funding, investment, exit and other activities for Darby's mezzanine and private equity businesses in Asia, providing support for teams based in Hong Kong, India and Korea.

Before joining Darby, John served as Xinhua Finance's General Counsel from January 2004 to December 2011. John began their career as a lawyer at Norton Rose Fulbright from January 1998 to December 2004, before moving to Stikeman Elliott LLP from January 1994 to December 1998.

John Mclean has a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Queen's University, a Mandarin Chinese degree from National Taiwan Normal University, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Toronto.

They are on a team with William Douglas - Chief Commercial Officer, Justin Damer - Chief Strategy and Services Officer, and Derek Kemp - Chief Operating, Transformation & Risk Officer. John Mclean reports to Alan Brown, Chief Executive Officer.
