Visual Communication Victoria (VCV) exists to champion professional growth backed by community support. As a volunteer-run association dedicated to Visual Communication Design education, VCV has spent more than four decades nurturing the people who shape the next generation of designers.

Based in Victoria, Australia, the organisation supports teachers across Years 7 to 12, creating a network where knowledge is shared, confidence is built, and educators feel empowered to do their best work.

Founded in 1979 as the Graphic Communication Teachers Association, VCV was established to strengthen a subject still finding its place within the education system. Through decades of curriculum evolution, it has remained a constant advocate for design education, developing trusted, curriculum-aligned resources and delivering professional learning shaped directly by the needs of teachers.

As the subject has grown in relevance and complexity, so too has VCV’s role: not simply as a provider of materials, but as a steward of standards, credibility, and collective progress. At the heart of VCV is a simple but powerful belief: teaching is stronger when it is shared.
