Heather Dean

Heather Dean is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the retail and educational sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Customer Success Manager at VitalSource since June 2024, Heather previously held several key positions at Iowa State University Book Store, including Assistant Director from May 2008 to June 2024, where responsibilities encompassed senior management, retail sales, marketing, and strategic business planning. As Course Materials Manager, Heather focused on initiatives aimed at enhancing student affordability, while earlier as Buyer/Supervisor, oversight was provided for course materials and software licensing. Additionally, Heather contributed to the Independent College Bookstore Association (ICBA) as a member of the Board of Directors from February 2017 to February 2022 and has been involved in various roles to support institutional collegiate retail. Heather holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Business Management from Iowa State University, earned between 2002 and 2006.
