Patrick Hale

Patrick Hale is the current Chief Information Officer & Executive Vice President at Vitas. Prior to their current position, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at Sparrow Health System from January 2009 to January 2013. In this role, they were responsible for the technical architecture, operations, and strategy for one of the midwest's largest healthcare organizations, which supported nearly 500,000 outpatient procedures and 100,000 emergency room visits per year.

Sparrow Health System is a regional center for cancer, pediatrics, neurology, and neonatal intensive care. It also offers the region's only Level 1 trauma center. The health system serves more than 1 million citizens across two campuses in Lansing, affiliate hospitals in three additional cities, and dozens of regional satellite care facilities. In just the last two years, Sparrow has converted 23 physician practice locations to its electronic medical record system (EMR), implemented a fully electronic charting/workflow system in 600+ departments, completely overhauled the health system web presence, introduced internal/external cloud technology, and realized the maturation of data analytic capabilities across its application portfolio.

In 2009, InformationWeek named Sparrow Health System 22nd in its annual ranking of the most "tech savvy" companies worldwide. The health system was also ranked 3rd most innovative in Healthcare.

Patrick Hale attended Michigan State University.
