Averill Conn

Averill Conn serves as Associate General Counsel at Vitol since January 2021, following a tenure as Senior Counsel at Sidley Austin LLP, where representation focused on financing and development of energy projects, including renewable energy and complex commodity arrangements. Prior experience includes a significant role at NRG Energy, leading legal activities for several divisions, such as NRG Business Solutions, Petra Nova—recognized for its large-scale carbon capture project—and EVgo, a pioneer in electric vehicle services. Conn began a career in energy law at Bracewell LLP and holds a JD from The University of Texas School of Law and a BA in Classical Civilization from Yale University.
