Dr. Simon Jacobi

Dr. Simon Jacobi is a seasoned professional in data science and consulting, currently serving as the Head of Data Science at Vitol since June 2019, where responsibilities include managing a data science team to develop machine learning models for trading decisions and reporting on group performance to senior management. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Consultant at Boston Consulting Group from October 2016 to May 2019, specializing in post-merger integrations and large-scale transformations in the Medtech and Biopharma sectors. Dr. Jacobi completed a Ph.D. in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford, having also pursued a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zürich and a Bachelor’s from Technische Universität Darmstadt. Additional experiences encompass internships at Porsche and Sanofi, along with teaching roles throughout academic studies.
