Simon Bister

Simon Bister currently serves as the Directeur technique at VIVALIA since March 2021. Previously, Bister held multiple positions at ELECTRABEL - ENGIE GROUP from October 2007 to March 2021, including Senior Simulator Instructor, where responsibilities included team training and scenario development for reactor operation certification. Other notable roles encompassed Maintenance Instrumentation Section Head, overseeing a 28-person team, managing substantial OPEX and CAPEX budgets, and ensuring compliance with maintenance procedures. Bister also contributed as an Adjunct Maintenance Service Head at Tihange 2, coordinating cross-disciplinary operations, and had a background in I&C Performance Monitoring and Nuclear Trainee Program completion. Bister holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from HELMo and a Level 1 Prevention Advisor certification from the Université Ouverte de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.
