Brian Friend

Brian Friend is a DevSecOps Engineer at VivSoft, with prior experience as a Principal Software Engineer at Northrop Grumman, where responsibilities included the architectural development of capital software for multi-million dollar projects and managing deployment operations within Kubernetes. Brian's expertise extends to leveraging GitOps practices, configuration management with Ansible and Terraform, and integrating security testing with SonarQube. Previous roles at the U.S. Department of Energy involved provisioning cloud architecture on AWS and managing database systems, while Brian's early career in the US Navy focused on mission systems as a Search and Rescue Swimmer and Aviation Warfare Systems Operator. Brian is pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Cincinnati, building upon a Bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and additional education at Caltech.
