Eric Perkerson

Eric Perkerson has a diverse work experience in the fields of machine learning, data science, teaching, and programming. Eric is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer at VIZIO since April 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Data Scientist at Lowe's Companies, Inc. from April 2021 to April 2022.

Eric's earlier experiences include working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Georgia from August 2013 to August 2019. In this role, they taught various mathematics courses and also assisted in upper-level and graduate mathematics courses. Eric had complete control and autonomy over class assignments, structure, and grading.

Before their teaching experience, Eric worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta as a Programming and Data Cleaning specialist in May 2013. Eric primarily focused on data cleaning and data integrity using MySQL, Python, and Mathematica. Eric worked on repairing a corrupted database with millions of entries, utilizing math and finance techniques to identify outliers and corrupted data.

Eric Perkerson has a strong educational background in mathematics and economics. Eric began their academic journey in 2009 at The University of Georgia, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics and an AB degree in Economics. Eric successfully completed both programs in 2013.

Motivated by their passion for the subjects, Eric decided to further specialize in these fields. From 2012 to 2014, they attended the University of Georgia - Terry College of Business, obtaining a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Economics. Building upon this foundation, they then pursued a higher level of education and enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Mathematics at The University of Georgia. Eric dedicated six years of intensive study and research, ultimately completing their PhD in 2019.

Demonstrating a commitment to lifelong learning, Eric has also obtained a certification in "Natural Language Processing with Classification and Vector Spaces" from Coursera in September 2020. This additional certification highlights their eagerness to stay updated in the constantly evolving field of data science and its applications.
