Joyce Thung

Joyce Thung has a diverse work experience spanning various environmental and research roles. Joyce currently works at VIZIO as a Compliance Manager, Environmental Programs. Prior to that, they were an Environmental Stewardship Manager at VIZIO. Before joining VIZIO, Joyce worked at CalRecycle as an Environmental Scientist, where they oversaw the state's paint recycling program and supported other waste stewardship programs. Joyce also worked at UCLA Luskin Center for Innovation as an Assistant Project Manager, leading projects related to water systems and visitor-use surveys. Joyce has teaching experience as a Graduate Teaching Associate at the University of California, Los Angeles. Additionally, they worked as an Advocacy Fellow at the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy, conducting health impact assessments and making policy recommendations. Joyce has also held positions as a Fellow at the Summer Institute on Sustainability and Energy and as an Academic Administrative Assistant at ACI College Prep. Joyce gained research experience as an Undergraduate Research Fellow at Houston Methodist and as an Intern at the Orange County Public Health Laboratory.

Joyce Thung completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from Rice University, which they attended from 2012 to 2016. Following this, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a Graduate Certificate in Leaders in Sustainability, specializing in Environmental Health Sciences from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health between 2016 and 2018.
