Ricardo Saavedra is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in climate change and urban planning. As the Founder of Vizonomy since June 2014, Ricardo has developed the ASTERRA platform, utilizing Open Street Map, social media, and open data to assist urban planners and emergency responders in managing climate hazards. Prior to this, Ricardo held a position at ICF International from July 2012 to May 2014, leading initiatives in geospatial data and visualization to innovate products for clients in Latin America. At Dewberry, from August 2010 to June 2012, Ricardo assessed natural hazard risks and developed web applications for financial and engineering models. Early career roles included work as an Analyst at the International Research Institute for Climate and Society and as a Structural Engineer at Barton Engineers. Ricardo holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering and Finance and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, both from Columbia University.
