By 2017, US-based Brazilian writers needed to outsource publishing and publishing services for their books in Brazil or Portugal. Editing a book remotely, considering the common review, design, and particular choice issues that are best made visually, was very difficult and costly for those living abroad. In addition to involving travel and high expenses, the time involved in shipping material for review made the project unfeasible and writers were limited to virtual proofing (done via PDF) without seeing their book until it was ready after a long wait. .
The VLM Press Solution - A Brazilian Publisher in the United States
In order to offer the Brazilian writer a local solution and the opportunity to closely monitor the production of his quality work at all stages, we created a unique process without the problems commonly faced by writers. The writer receives a prototype of his book for evaluation and approval even before it is printed.
