Lisa Orfe

Laboratory Manager at VMRD

Lisa Orfe has been working in the field of laboratory management since 2016, when they began their role as Laboratory Manager at VMRD, Inc. Prior to that, they were a Research Supervisor at Washington State University from 2004 to 2016. Before that, they were a Scientific Technician II at Fox Chase Cancer Center from 2003 to 2004, and a Research Specialist A at the University of Pennsylvania from 2000 to 2003. In their roles, they have managed a molecular and microbiology laboratory and assisted with data generation, including the design and execution of experiments and the development and validation of new protocols. Additionally, they have performed analysis and description of a novel sulfotransferase, SULT4A1, and pharmacogenetic analysis and subsequent genotype-phenotype correlation of a liver sulfotransferase, SULT1A1. Lisa has also utilized sequencing, quantitative RT-PCR, cloning, and other molecular techniques in the elucidation of neurodegenerative tauopathies, as well as explored the use of archived tissue in RNA microarray and gene expression studies.

Lisa Orfe attended Colorado State University from 1997 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology.
