VOA Southeast

Founded in 1896 by Christian social reformers Maud and Ballington Booth, Volunteers of America (VOA) is a ministry of service that supports America’s most vulnerable. Serving the entire United States, VOA is committed to helping those in need through our faith-based roots in each community. VOA Southeast began serving the local community in 1980 through the operation of three group homes for people with developmental disabilities. A charter member of Volunteers of America, VOA Southeast has expanded its reach and now provides services across Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. With a bold vision to support healthy and thriving individuals, families and communities, our mission is to serve those who have the greatest needs including individuals with developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders, and mental illnesses as well as at-risk youth and low-income seniors. In our 43rd year of operation, VOA Southeast helps close to 35,000 people a year and counting. We are one of the nation’s largest, established comprehensive human services organizations with over 600 mission-driven professionals, dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential.
