James Richards

James Richards currently serves as the Head of Transformation and Analytics at Vodafone, a position held since July 2022, where the focus is on building a Cloud Data & Analytics capability aligned with Vodafone's Finance and Technology strategy for 2025. Prior experience includes leading Digital Enterprise Services at the Bank of England from September 2016 to October 2022, managing a team of approximately 40 employees responsible for enterprise business platforms. Richards has held various roles at Vodafone since 2003, including Group Technology Strategy Lead for Business Intelligence, Head of Back Office Operations, and other positions that emphasized operational excellence, strategy, and project management in the IT domain. Educational qualifications include an MSc with Distinction in Geographical Information Systems from the University of Leicester and a BSc Honours in Geography from Lancaster University.
