Barry Morris, PhD, has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of plastics technology and development. Currently, they serve as the Chief Technology Advisor at VOID Technologies, where they provide strategic guidance, mentorship, and development support to accelerate the transition towards more sustainable plastics and packaging. Their role involves evolving the R&D strategy, guiding technical programs, and mentoring the team in launching unique cavitation additives for high-performance plastic films.

Prior to their current role, Barry worked as a Technical Consultant at BAMorris Consulting, starting in 2021. Additionally, they had a long tenure at Dow, where they retired as an R&D Fellow in 2021. At Dow, they supported ethylene copolymers and functional polyolefin product lines, leading important projects such as the transfer of specialty ethylene copolymer technology from DuPont to Dow. Barry also played a crucial role in establishing a new R&D team for three platform technologies through mentoring and project reviews.

Before joining Dow, Barry worked at DuPont for over two decades, starting in 1996. During their time at DuPont, they held various roles including Technology Associate, Sr. Technology Associate, and Technical Fellow. In these positions, they created new products and applications for ethylene copolymers, generating significant revenue through their inventions and commercialization efforts. Barry also utilized their extensive knowledge of polyolefins, ethylene copolymers, packaging materials, and converting processes to solve numerous customer product development issues.

Barry Morris, PhD, has a strong educational background in both chemical engineering and business administration. Barry earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia. Additionally, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration from the University of Delaware.

Furthermore, Barry Morris has an additional certification as a Fellow of the Society from SPE: Inspiring Plastics Professionals, which they obtained in January 2005.
