Volo provides foundational and advanced learning for youth ages 7-18. We support humans and humanity with an emphasis on emergent learning. Our transformative educational paradigm values nature-based learning, agency, and community. We get young people outside for experiences in and with nature and other people. We help people understand the world around them and their unique talents as they develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes for well-being now and in the future. Our program includes foundational learning including mathematics, reading, writing, art, music, and movement through personal exploration, play, guided experiences, and direct instruction. Older youth build on foundational learning through personalized learning plans. We incorporate developmentally-informed self-direction, and provide opportunities for student-led projects and youth leadership in the community.
