Bruno Melaneo is an experienced software engineer with a focus on embedded systems within the aerospace and telecommunications sectors. Currently serving as the Lead Embedded Software Engineer at Volpi Group since September 2021, Bruno specializes in IEC 62304 compliant software development and firmware for ARM-based microcontrollers using C and Rust. Prior to this role, Bruno worked at Pilatus Aircraft Ltd as an Airborne Software Developer, contributing to the development of the PC-24 Utilities Management System and the PC-21 Integrated Mission Computer in accordance with DO-178B standards. Bruno's background includes positions at Thales Alenia Space as a Senior FCV Engineer, where involvement included projects such as ExoMars TGO and AlphaBus Extension, and at Critical Software as an Aerospace Software Engineer on various Earth Observation and Telecom missions. Bruno holds a Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from FCTUC and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with a specialization in Automation & Robotics from Coimbra Engineering Institute.
