Udayan Umapathi

Udayan Umapathi is an experienced entrepreneur and technology expert, currently serving as the Founder and CEO of Volta Labs, Inc. since March 2018, where efforts are focused on transforming genomics and sequencing sample preparation. Previous roles include researcher at MIT Media Lab, co-founder of Create Labs, Inc., and researcher at the Hasso Plattner Institute, specializing in innovative physical computing techniques and rapid prototyping. Udayan also contributed as a research assistant at Purdue University, a hardware engineer at Flomio, and an applications engineer at Cypress Semiconductor. Udayan holds a Master’s degree in Media Arts and Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Purdue University, alongside a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from RV College of Engineering. Additionally, Udayan completed a program at Y Combinator in 2019.
