Shayne McQuade is the CEO and Founder of Voltaic Systems, a company established in June 2004 that specializes in sustainable products focused on small-scale solar charging and lighting solutions for various applications. McQuade has held multiple board member positions, including LifeEdited from 2012 to 2018, Inhabitat.com in early 2011, and TreeHugger.com from 2004 to 2008, with the latter two being leading environmental design blogs that were acquired by Internet Brands and Discovery Channel, respectively. Prior to Voltaic Systems, McQuade founded and served as CEO of Serious Player, a social network startup, and Serus LLC, a web-based software startup acquired by Netopia Inc. Additional experience includes a consulting role at McKinsey & Company, focusing on internet strategy, and at KPMG, concentrating on international business. McQuade holds an MBA in International Business from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Business from Edith Cowan University.
