Alexander Ocsa

Alexander Ocsa has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Alexander started their career as a Software Engineer at Magia Digital, where they developed and maintained standalone and web applications. Alexander then worked as a Professor at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas before joining Northern World Entertainment Software Inc. as a Mobile and Game Developer. Here, they led the development of new technologies in mobile and game technology, with a focus on Holographic Mixed Reality video games.

After that, Ocsa worked at Universidad Nacional de San Agustin de Arequipa as a Research Team Lead, focusing on HPC and data analytics using GPUs for a research project on Climate Changes in the Amazon. Alexander also served as the Head of a research project in Mobile Learning Education, working on various tools related to schools and teaching using mobile and web technology.

Ocsa then transitioned to the role of Senior Software Engineer at Laboratoria, a bootcamp program, where they mentored and taught students and led the creation of the talent platform. Following this, they worked as a Senior C++ Software Engineer at BlazingDB, where they implemented compute primitives for open-source projects in RAPIDS and contributed to the development of an SQL engine called BlazingSQL.

Continuing their career in the software engineering field, Ocsa joined Talently as a Senior Technical Instructor, delivering technical training to professionals. Alexander then worked at Quansight as a Senior C++ Software Engineer before their current role as a Senior Compute Kernels Engineer at Voltron Data.

Throughout their career, Ocsa has gained expertise in various technologies such as C++, CUDA, SQL, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and more. Alexander demonstrates a strong background in software development, research, teaching, and leadership.

Alexander Ocsa completed a Master's degree in Computer Science from USP - Universidade de São Paulo in 2010-2011. Following that, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from Universidad Nacional de San Agustin de Arequipa, which they completed in 2014-2017. Prior to that, they obtained an Engineer's degree in Computer Science from the same university, which they completed in 2004-2009. In terms of certifications, they obtained a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification from EF English First in July 2019. Alexander also has a CUDA certification from NVIDIA, although the details of when they obtained it are not available.
