Nate Rock

Nate Rock is a Senior DevOps Engineer at Voltron Data. Prior to joining Voltron, Nate worked as a Staff Platform Engineer at Gemini from July 2021 to December 2021. Nate's role there centered around mentorship, best practices, and guidance through critical technical blockers. As Gemini grew, Nate's main focus was working with the Platform team to design, create, and support a cloud-native platform enabling the rapid and secure building, testing, deployment and monitoring for all critical Gemini services.

From November 2019 to July 2021, Nate was a Principal Operations Engineer at Rally Health, where they worked with various teams across Rally and Optum Digital to make sure the underlying infrastructure was provisioned, monitored and able to handle the demands of our customers. Nate's primary duties focused on facilitating the organization’s migration to kubernetes (k8s).

Before Rally Health, Nate was a System Architect (R&D) at Infinite Campus from January 2002 to July 2012. Nate then became a Software Security Engineer at Wells Fargo from January 2000 to January 2001. Nate began their career as a Software Engineer at Musicland from January 1999 to January 2000.

Nate Rock's educational career consists of a self-directed study in neuroscience from St. Olaf College and certification from various Coursera courses in genomic data science, including command line tools, algorithms for DNA sequencing, introduction to genomic technologies, Python for genomic data science, exploratory data analysis, getting and cleaning data, R programming, and the data scientist's toolbox.
