Jacob Deery is a skilled engineer with extensive experience in robotics, software systems, and autonomous vehicle technologies. Currently serving as a Founding Engineer at Vooma and a Graduate Student Researcher at the Toronto Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory since September 2021, Jacob has contributed to various projects involving cutting-edge research and development. Previously, as Software Systems Lead at aUToronto, Jacob managed sensor drivers and software integration for a student team competing in the GM/SAE AutoDrive Challenge II. Jacob's early career includes significant roles in organizations like Waterloo Rocketry, Kodiak Robotics, and Huawei Technologies, where contributions ranged from leadership in rocket development projects to advancements in motion planning and perception for autonomous driving. Jacob holds a Master of Applied Science in Robotics from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
