Marcus Davies

Marcus Davies has a diverse and extensive work experience in engineering and management roles. Marcus currently serves as an Engineering Manager at Vortex, leading a team and managing projects. Prior to this, they held the position of Technical Lead - R&D & QA at Vortex.

Marcus also worked as an R&D Manager at The Sure Chill Company, where they led a team of engineers, provided training, and built prototypes of products.

Before that, Marcus had a long tenure at TT Electronics Plc - AB Connectors, where they held various positions. Marcus started as a Design Engineer (Mechanical) and implemented 3D CAD, improved design processes, and identified and resolved issues in electrical connectors. Marcus then became a Senior Design Engineer and was responsible for improving existing products, developing new ones, and managing R&D projects. Eventually, they were promoted to Principal Engineer/Engineering Manager, where they oversaw engineering and R&D teams, trained employees, implemented document management tools, and improved organizational structures.

Earlier in their career, Marcus worked as a Design Engineer (Mechanical) at Wabash Technologies, where they developed solutions for automotive sensors and improved integration processes. Marcus also worked as a Design Engineer at VETECH PRODUCT DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT LTD, utilizing CAD/CAM systems to solve product development and manufacturing problems for prestigious clients.

Additionally, Marcus had a part-time role as a Lecturer at the University of Derby, where they taught Advanced Concept Modelling using CAD software, developed lesson plans, assessed assignments, and provided feedback to students.
