Senior Product Design Engineer at Vortex

Matthew Williams has a diverse and extensive work experience in product design and engineering. Matthew is currently working as a Senior Product Design Engineer at Vortex IoT since July 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Orangebox as a Senior NPD Engineer from September 2015 to June 2021.

Before their role at Orangebox, Matthew worked at Matilda's Planet as a Product Design Engineer from May 2014 to August 2015. Matthew was responsible for designing and developing infrared heating systems and wall insulation products for the domestic market. Matthew also had proficiency in using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and was involved in the entire product development process, from concept to launch.

Matthew also gained experience as a Design Engineer at Bee Design Consultancy Ltd from September 2013 to May 2014, where they designed and developed equipment for the leisure and mining industries. Matthew used Catia V5 CAD software to create engineering drawings and ensured that designs met assembly and manufacturing requirements.

Prior to that, Matthew worked as a Design Engineer at Sealine International Ltd from April 2012 to May 2013. Matthew was involved in new concept development and product enhancement initiatives for luxury power boat interiors. Matthew used Solidworks CAD software to design complex furniture assemblies and effectively solved production line issues.

Matthew's earlier experience includes working as a Furniture Designer at Makepeace Cabinetmaking Ltd from September 2004 to June 2012. Matthew was responsible for sales and design of bespoke fitted and freestanding furniture. Matthew was skilled in developing concept sketches, creating plan and elevation drawings, and presenting designs to clients.

Matthew began their career as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Panasonic from September 1997 to January 2001. Matthew designed trim kit assemblies, control panel interfaces, and packaging for new microwave oven models. Matthew had a strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes.

Matthew Williams completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Industrial and Product Design from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff from 1994 to 1997. Matthew then pursued a Master's degree in Industrial Design at Swansea Institute of H.E from 2002 to 2004.
