Dan Payne

Dan Payne has a diverse work experience in the software industry. Dan has worked at VOSS as the CTO since April 2017 and was previously the Lead Software Architect from July 2016 to April 2017. Prior to that, they held the role of Software Architect and Product Owner at VOSS from July 2014 to April 2017, where they led a development team and managed the backlog with internal and external stakeholders.

Before joining VOSS, Dan worked at VOSS as the Lead Designer from May 2012 to September 2013 and as a Software Developer from December 2010 to May 2012. Prior to that, they worked at Alcatel-Lucent South Africa as a Technical Support Engineer from October 2008 to November 2010, where they were responsible for maintenance and support of network systems.

Dan's early career includes roles at EM Software & Systems (EMSS) as a Kernel Software Developer from April 2006 to September 2008, where they worked on troubleshooting and bug fixing in the kernel team, and at Braxton Group as a Software Developer from November 2005 to April 2006.

Dan started their career at Entelligence as a Software Developer from June 2005 to November 2005, where they built small websites and worked on a nurse and doctor recruiting web application.

Dan Payne completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng E+E with CompSci) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with Computer Science at Stellenbosch University from 2001 to 2005. In addition to their formal education, they obtained several certifications including "Cloud Computing Concepts, Part 1," "Software Processes and Agile Practices," and "Introduction to Software Product Management" from Coursera Course Certificates in 2016.
