Prior to joining VoteRiders, Roy was executive director of the American Humanist Association, and before that, Deputy Director for the Interfaith Alliance. Early in his 25+ year career in nonprofit advocacy, Roy fundraised for various causes, including AIDS research and wildlife conservation. He is the author of two books, Creating Change Through Humanism and Justice-Centered Humanism. Roy earned a BA in sociology from Mary Washington College and an MBA from George Mason University. He serves on the Forest Stewardship Council Investments & Partnerships Leadership Council as well as on the advisory board of the Religious Freedom Center of the Newseum Institute. Having appeared on major network news programs and written for high-circulation publications, Roy looks forward to focusing his commentary on the critical issue of the time: protecting voters’ rights.
