Fred Brown has over 25 years of experience in the technology and procurement industries. Fred began their career in 1993 as the Enterprise Services Manager/IT Consultant at Penn Software & Technology Services. In 2005, they joined Southern Union Company as the Corporate System Support Manager and was responsible for consolidating disparate email and collaboration systems, leading data center, low voltage, and network efforts for the $16m corporate headquarters, and assisting in the successful transition to Oracle Financials.
In 2006, Fred Brown became the Vice President Information Technology at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, where they coached a team of 3 direct reports and 25 total team members and opened the 1st casino in Pennsylvania. In 2013, they were promoted to CIO & Senior VP of IT at Mohegan Sun, where they were responsible for transforming, realigning, and revitalizing the 20+ year old IT organization.
In 2015, Fred Brown became the Corporate CIO & Senior VP of IT at Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, where they created an IT shared services organization that could service the global property portfolio and led a digital transformation across the enterprise. In 2019, they joined Virtual Procurement Services as the Chief Technology Officer, where they oversaw strategic internal technology and product management as well as led the Technology Advisory Services practice. That same year, they also joined Traction Technology as a Strategic Advisor.
Currently, Fred Brown is the Chief Technology Officer at The Group Savings Organization, a revolutionary company that is transforming the current procurement system. Fred is responsible for the GSOHub technology platform, which digitally connects hospitals and healthcare systems with Affiliates that are uniquely equipped to save and recover money on just about any purchase. In addition, they provide cutting-edge contract management, vendor intelligence, asset management, and employee workshop tools to ensure a 360-degree approach to financial efficiencies.
Fred Brown received a Bachelor of Science in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management from King's College between 1991 and 1994.
