John Bucknell, PE

John Bucknell, PE has extensive work experience in engineering and leadership roles. John is currently serving as the CEO and Founder of Virtus Solis Technologies since 2018. Prior to this, they worked at Divergent where they held the position of Consulting Propulsion Technical Fellow from March 2021 to May 2021 and Propulsion Engineering Director from March 2016 to February 2021. Before that, John worked at Chrysler as a Tech Lead, Advanced Powertrain Controls from September 2012 to March 2016. John also worked at Space Exploration Technologies as a Senior Rocket Propulsion Development Engineer from July 2011 to August 2012. Earlier in their career, John held various positions at General Motors, GM Powertrain, DaimlerChrysler, and Chrysler, where they gained expertise in powertrain development, technology strategy, and chassis design.

John Bucknell, PE obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. John completed their Master's degree from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, they pursued their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cleveland State University, where they studied from 1993 to 1995. John'shigh school education was completed at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio, from 1984 to 1989, with a focus on College Preparatory studies.

In addition to their educational achievements, John Bucknell also obtained a Professional Engineer certification from the State of Michigan in October 2014.
