Elliot Bates is a seasoned professional in strategic partnerships and funding with extensive experience at VSO since February 2011, where roles have included Senior Strategic Partnerships Lead and interim Global Head of Business Development. Elliot has successfully managed a team of Donor Partnership Managers across multiple countries, focusing on securing significant funding and supporting partnership development. Prior roles at VSO include DFID Partnerships Manager and Institutional Donor Manager, emphasizing relationship management with key government donors and leading funding bids. Prior to VSO, Elliot contributed as Global Programme Development and Funding Advisor at The Fairtrade Foundation and served various roles in fundraising and development at CARE International UK and the Department for Education and Skills. Elliot holds a BA in Ancient History and Archaeology from Durham University and A-levels in History, English, and Biology from South Dartmoor Community College.
