Dave Brown has over 20 years of work experience in the field of software development and engineering. Dave most recently worked at VSolvit as a Software Engineer since November 2018. Prior to that, they were employed at AECOM as a Programmer Analyst, starting in June 2012 and progressing to the role of Programmer Analyst V in May 2018. At AECOM, they were responsible for in-house software development and database administration, focusing on user experience and control interface usability.
Before joining AECOM, Dave worked at URS Corporation as a Software Engineer from 2010 to 2012. Dave developed scalable web and service-oriented applications using the AWS SDK and collaborated directly with Amazon to create a custom web portal called FedCloud for Federal Government customers. Dave primarily worked on developing web and Windows-forms applications for Federal Government clients using .Net and SQL Server, along with supporting technologies such as XML, Linq, JavaScript, database encryption, and two-factor authentication. Dave also developed a web portal to interface with Amazon's Cloud computing offerings using Amazon's library of APIs.
Dave's earlier work experience includes roles as a Software Developer at IntersoftIT & LimeLeap from 2005 to 2006, a Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton from 2003 to 2005, a Software Developer at MCI Corporation from 2001 to 2003, and a Software Developer at PHM2 from 1999 to 2001. Dave started their career as a Project Control Engineer at 3D/International from 1998 to 1999 and then worked as a Project Controls Engineer at Bechtel Power Corporation from 1996 to 1998.
Dave Brown obtained their High School Diploma in 1988 from Bel Air High School. Following that, they attended Virginia Tech from 1988 to 1996, where they pursued a dual degree, earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Building Construction. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the CompTIA Security+ certification from CompTIA in August 2022. In November 2003, they also obtained the MCAD: Microsoft .NET and MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional certifications from Microsoft.
