Michael S. Tree

Michael S. Tree is a transit professional, conservationist, and community builder with extensive experience in public transportation management. They currently serve as the Program Director at VTA, overseeing the Diridon Station Redevelopment project. Previously, Tree held various leadership roles, including Executive Director at the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority and Chief Executive Officer at both the Golden Empire Transit District and Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District, where they implemented innovative transportation initiatives and significantly increased ridership. Tree holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Brigham Young University and a Master's degree in Transportation/Mobility Management from San Jose State University, along with an Executive Program certification from Harvard University.
