Corey Murphy has a diverse work experience starting from their most recent role as a Mechanical Engineer at VulcanForms Inc. where they currently work. Prior to that, Corey was a Mechanical Engineering Capstone Design Teaching Assistant at the University of Rhode Island, where they assisted with grading and evaluation of assignments and managed the student machine shop and the 3D printing lab. Corey also gained valuable experience as a Production Engineer Intern at Mearthane Products Corporation, where they worked on process improvement projects and daily operation of foam processing machines. Additionally, Corey worked as a Retail Staff Member at Wright's Dairy Farm and Bakery, where they operated the point of sale machine, assisted customers, and managed the dairy cooler. Corey also had an internship in the Dean's Office at the University of Rhode Island's College of Engineering, where they assisted with data compilation and organization, performed office tasks, and reported directly to the Assistant Dean of Engineering.
Corey Murphy received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, completing their studies from 2015 to 2019. Following that, Corey pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the same university, earning their degree between 2019 and 2021. In addition to their formal education, Corey obtained two certifications. In October 2019, they became an Engineer-In-Training through the Rhode Island State Board of Professional Engineers. Then, in December 2022, Corey acquired the certification in Additive Manufacturing for Innovative Design and Production from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
