VVOB – education for development is an international organisation with over 40 years’ experience in strengthening the quality of education systems in Africa, Asia and South America in close partnership with ministries of education and their institutions. Research shows that, of all school-based factors, the quality of teaching and school leadership has the biggest impact on learning outcomes of learners. As such, the professional development of teachers and school leaders is VVOB’s primary priority in ensuring quality education for all. By working closely with governments, research institutions, committed donors and national, regional and international networks and expert partners, VVOB strives to maximise the sustainability and potential for upscaling of its initiatives.

The team ensures that funds from official partners, like the Belgian and Flemish governments and the European Union, are used effectively and transparently to support VVOB’s initiatives in enhancing the quality of education systems in Africa, Asia, and South America.

The Education Team at VVOB focuses on enhancing the quality of education through the professional development of teachers and school leaders. By collaborating closely with ministries of education, this team designs and implements initiatives that improve teaching practices and leadership skills in schools, ultimately aiming to boost learning outcomes for students. Key team members include the Education Manager, Embedded Education Expert, Provincial ECD Coach, and Education Leaders, who work synergistically to achieve the organisation's goals in its various operational regions.
