Bas van Beek

Bas van Beek is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in journalism, education, and social work. Currently serving as a member of the Woo working group at VVOJ and an information specialist at Follow the Money since 2020, Bas also teaches a post-bachelor course on investigative journalism at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. With extensive experience as an investigative reporter at Platform Authentieke Journalistiek since 2013, Bas focuses on critical reporting to support social justice. Prior roles include assistant to Wob expert Roger Vleugels and freelance researcher for organizations like SOMO and the Transnational Institute. Bas has a strong educational foundation, holding a Master of Arts in Conflict Studies and Human Rights and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Utrecht University, along with various qualifications related to social care and history education.
