Sean Maxson has over 30 years of experience in the music industry. Sean began their career in 1991 as VP of Promotion & Marketing at Mammoth Records. In 2003, they became General Manager & Director of Marketing at Rough Trade, where they were responsible for overseeing the marketing department and devising tailor made marketing plans for each release. In 2005, they moved to Vagrant Records as Director of Marketing & Product Management. In 2007, they were VP of Label Management & Marketing at RED Distribution. In 2012, they were General Manager at Coooperative Music USA. From 2013 to 2017, they were General Manager US at IDOL, Independent Distribution On Line, where they established the business in North America from the ground up. In 2021, they became Vice President of Marketing at Better Noise Music. Most recently, in 2022, they began their current role as Label & Agency Partnerships at Vydia.
Sean Maxson obtained their BA in Communications/Media Arts from Western Connecticut State University from 1986 to 1991. Sean also holds several certifications, including a Google IT Support Professional Certificate obtained in November 2020, an Inbound Sales certification from HubSpot Academy obtained in June 2022, a Content Ownership certification from YouTube obtained in May 2022, a YouTube Music certification from YouTube obtained in May 2022, and a HubSpot Sales Software certification from HubSpot Academy obtained in June 2022.
