Joyce Yang

Joyce Yang is a researcher at Waabi since March 2021, following a tenure as a research scientist at Uber Advanced Technologies Group from September 2019 to February 2021. Previous experience includes roles at Pixar Animation Studios as a core engineering intern in late 2018, and multiple internships at Uber and Google, focusing on computer vision, machine learning, and software engineering. Notably, Joyce contributed to the launch of Google’s server-side code evaluation platform for the Code Jam tournament and developed a machine learning model for classifying malicious ads. Academic qualifications include a PhD and a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Toronto, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Honors Computer Science from the University of Waterloo.
