Trish Tierney

Trish Tierney is a seasoned leader in the intersection of education, technology, and gender equity. As Co-Founder and CEO of WAKE: Women's Alliance for Knowledge Exchange since 2015, Trish drives initiatives to support women changemakers globally, particularly through the Tech2Empower project. In 2019, Trish also co-founded Future Fund for Education, focusing on empowering African entrepreneurs in education. Prior roles include Executive Director at the Institute of International Education, where Trish fostered partnerships to enhance educational programs, and Program Manager at Cisco Systems, where Trish was instrumental in launching the Least Developed Countries Initiative. Trish's extensive experience includes program management at The World Bank, emphasizing education reform and girls' education in Sub-Saharan Africa, and a teaching stint with WorldTeach. Trish holds an M.A. in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in English Literature and Gender Studies from the University of Notre Dame.
