Joel Lutterman

Joel Lutterman is a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in pediatrics and healthcare management. Currently serving as the Medical Director at Wake County Department of Health and Human Services since October 2023, Joel is focused on improving healthcare accessibility through Medicaid Expansion. Previously, roles include Staff Cardiologist at International Children's Heart Foundation, Executive Medical Director at Advance Community Health, Medical Director at McLeod Health, Site Based Medical Director at Atrium Health, and several other leadership positions in pediatric care. Joel holds an MBA from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University, an MD from Boston University, and a BA in Psychology from Brandeis University.
