Michael Davis

Michael Davis is an experienced Innovation Strategist currently with Wake County since September 2021. Prior experience includes serving as a Strategic Initiative Manager for Durham County Government from December 2010 to September 2021, where notable achievements involved managing the refresh of the county's Strategic Plan and co-creating the IdeaLab forum for innovation skill-building. Michael has contributed significantly to performance improvement initiatives and capacity building in various domains, including data skills and facilitation. Earlier career roles include Assistant to the County Manager, Research Assistant at UNC Office of Economic and Business Development, and Staff Writer at Chattanooga Times Free Press. Michael holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
