Laurie Willis is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in journalism and higher education communications. Currently serving as Senior Associate Editor at the General Alumni Association of UNC-Chapel Hill since April 2022, Laurie also holds the position of Associate Director for News and Communications at Wake Forest University, where responsibilities include media relations and internal communications. Previous roles include Chief Communications and Marketing Officer at Bennett College, Assistant Director of Public Relations at Livingstone College, and various news reporting positions at prominent newspapers such as Baltimore Sun, The News & Observer, The Charlotte Observer, and others. Laurie earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
