Michael Thompson

Michael Thompson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Michael is currently serving as the Chief Design Officer at Walker Filtration Limited since March 2021. Prior to this, they held positions at Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, where they worked as an Advanced Process Engineering Manager from August 2019 to March 2021 and as an Engineering Manager from November 2017 to August 2019.

Before joining Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, Michael worked at Tharsus Ltd as a Design Manager from January 2015 to November 2017. Michael also gained valuable experience at BEL Valves Ltd, where they held several roles including Engineering Design Manager, Lead Project Engineer, and Senior Project Engineer from October 2011 to January 2015.

Michael began their career at Parker Hannifin, where they worked for over a decade. Michael served as a Senior Engineer from July 2011 to October 2011, as a Design Engineer from January 2006 to July 2011, and as a Technical Apprentice & Engineering Support Technician from October 2000 to January 2006.

Michael Thompson's education history begins in 2000 when they enrolled at Newcastle College to pursue a degree in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering. Michael completed their ONC, HNC, and HND degrees at this institution, studying there until 2005. Afterward, in 2006, Michael went on to attend Northumbria University, where they focused on Mechanical Engineering for their BEng (Hons) degree. Michael'sstudies at this university lasted until 2010. Michael continued their education at Northumbria University, concentrating on Engineering & Technology, and completed their MSc degree in 2013.
