Peter Smith has a diverse work experience in the publishing industry. Peter started their career in 2000 at Pearson Education as a National Account Manager. From 2004 to 2007, they worked at HarperCollins Publishers as an International Sales Manager. Peter then joined HarperCollins Publishing as a Key Account Director - Education, where they worked until 2011. In 2011, they joined Jolly Learning Ltd as an International Manager. Peter worked at Hachette UK from 2012 to 2018 as the Head of Educational Sales - Children's. Currently, they are working at Walker Books, where they started as an Education Sales Manager in 2019 and later became the Head of Education Sales & Key Account Manager.
Peter Smith attended the University of Exeter from 1993 to 1996, where they obtained a BA degree with a 2.1 classification in English, American Studies. During this time, they also pursued a BA degree in American Studies and Commonwealth Arts at the same institution. Additionally, Peter completed 9 GCSEs with 8A's and 1 B.
