Frances Mocnik is an accomplished Gift Guides Editor and Shop/Play Columnist at The Sydney Morning Herald since 2017 and has served as the Objects Editor for The Australian Financial Review Magazine since 1999, where the high-end products section highlights leisure goods and designer objects. Frances is also an established editorial photographer, recognized for producing reportage projects and awarded the Royal Australian Geographic Medal for Excellence in Photography, along with nominations for the Walkley and Leica Documentary awards. Past contributions include photography for Australian Geographic from 1996 to 2021 and teaching roles as a sessional lecturer in photography at the University of Technology Sydney and UNSW Art & Design. Frances earned a Master of Fine Arts in Photomedia from UNSW and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from The Australian National University.
