Jonathan Drennan

Jonathan Drennan is an accomplished journalist currently serving at The Sydney Morning Herald since August 2023. Previously, Jonathan worked as the Media and PR Lead at UNSW, where efforts focused on translating scientific advancements into media narratives through the NSW Smart Sensing Network. Jonathan's extensive experience includes roles such as Media Lead at Local Land Services, Head of Media and Communications for the AFL in NSW/ACT, and Head of Editorial at Herd MSL, overseeing various high-profile clients. A strong background in account management and digital strategy was developed through positions at VML, Havas Worldwide, Gravity Road, AMV BBDO, and Leo Burnett. Jonathan holds a BA in English Literature from Trinity College Dublin and an MA in Journalism from Dublin City University.
