Max Maddison

Max Maddison currently serves as a State Political Reporter for The Sydney Morning Herald since July 2023. Prior to this role, Max Maddison was a NSW Political Correspondent and Federal Press Gallery Journalist at The Australian from March 2016 to June 2023, gaining notable experience covering federal elections and major political events, including travel with Scott Morrison during the campaign. Max Maddison's significant contributions to journalism were recognized with the 2022 Wallace Brown Young Journalist of the Year award for outstanding coverage of the NSW Liberal Party's internal conflicts. Max Maddison holds an Honours degree in Government and International Relations with a focus on Environmental Politics, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Politics, Economics, and Social Sciences from the University of Sydney.
