Doyle M. Wallace

Doyle joined the family business as a nine-year-old lad, working in the warehouse on Saturdays and during the summers (there must have been no child labor laws in those days).Doyle graduated from Carson-Newman College in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

In 1975, Mr. Wallace sent Doyle to Memphis, Tennessee where he joined the newly acquired farm equipment division of the Company, King Wallace, Inc.He worked as a salesperson in south Arkansas before moving to Chattanooga in 1977 to join another sister farm equipment company, Southeastern-Wallace, Inc.

Doyle moved back to Morristown in 1984 to become the PRO Program Director at Wallace Hardware.Over the next few years, he worked as a buyer and manager of the Industrial Division. In the mid 90s, Doyle dealt with medical issues that necessitated a bone marrow transplant. He was away from the company for three years before returning in the late 90s to the Industrial Division.

In 2003, Doyle became the manager of the family’s Holiday Inn Conference Center Hotel.During his tenure, the hotel won numerous awards under his leadership.When his father passed away on Thanksgiving Day in 2008, Doyle assumed the role of President and CEO of Wallace Hardware.He maintains that role today.
